A new addition to the PICARD leather goods family
On 1 September 2022, six apprentices started their careers at the leather goods manufacturer PICARD. In the coming years, they will be trained as industrial clerks and fine bag makers.
During their time at PICARD, the industrial clerk trainees will go through around 10 departments, including production, to learn more about the tradition of the craft. They will also gain their first insights into the fashion industry, for example by visiting the ILM, taking part in sales talks and planning internal events. As one of the last training companies in Germany, the leather goods manufacturer teaches the profession of fine bag-makers. From the material to the finished product - here the apprentices learn everything that is relevant to the production of a high-quality handbag. If the global situation allows it, they also have the opportunity to work in one of PICARD's foreign factories - in Ukraine or Bangladesh - and experience the processes on site.
"We are delighted to welcome committed and motivated apprentices to our PICARD family again this year," says Managing Director Georg Picard. "It means a lot to us that we can pass on our commercial knowledge as well as our craftsmanship to the next generations and thus lead our traditional company into an exciting future. We warmly welcome our new apprentices!"
