PICARD donates bags worth over €50,000 for flood victims in the Ahr Valley
At a fundraising event on 17 October 2021, the leather goods manufacturer equipped those affected by the flood disaster with around 700 bags.
Obertshausen, October 2021. Obertshausen, October 2021. PICARD would like to support the many victims of the flood disaster in the Ahr valley. At least 17,000 people lost their belongings in the floods in July; the damage is considerable.
With a fundraising campaign, the company wants to make a contribution and support the local families. On 17 October, the fundraising event "Beaming Children's Eyes" with a focus on children and families took place in Dom-Esch, where PICARD provided around 700 bags, backpacks and purses worth over €50,000. This is to equip those affected with the most essential items. "As almost all basic necessities are lacking in the flooded areas, it is great that PICARD is providing bags, backpacks and fanny packs. It is important to us that the donation is only handed out to those directly affected and ensures shining children's eyes," says Sven Wassermann, organiser of the event.
